The Beginning: My Mission
My journey into natural wellness began in 2012 when my mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Since then I’ve been researching safe natural approaches to some of today’s most common and devastating diseases.
She was also my first custom formula tester — the person this mission was always for
I’ve been making custom formulas since I opened my first medical
marijuana dispensary in 2018.
From that initial mission to help my mom — to creating over 2000+ free formulations — everything we do at ECS Therapy is built on direct patient feedback and scientific foundation
But What I Do Have
I don’t have the medical school degrees or molecular biologist equipment. But what I did first was take classes learning about cannabis education.
I took all of Dr. Sulak's Healer.com courses, joined the Society of Cannabis Clinicians, joined the Alliance for Pharmacy Compounding, and took numerous online classes. More importantly, I have research supplied by Dr. Raphael Mechoulam and have followed Dr. Ethan Russo and Dr. William Courtney for years
What I Have That They Don't
I have an endless supply of willing testers suffering from the specific
disease we are targeting. They provide real world feedback in layman’s
terms in real time.
I’m not limited to a very rigid clinical trial framework where variance will void the results. I’m able to pivot quickly and reformulate if needed. I don’t have thousands on the line per batch. I’m able to keep improving formulas with small tweaks that perfect the synergy.
We are developing a new type of supplement so we knew there would be many, many refinements to get to today's successful ECS Supplements.
Time Was On Our Side
The UWD dispensary not only provided the testers I needed to develop the formulas but also the income I needed to survive off of so I could wait until we had these four supplements ready to bring to the market.
Most companies can’t afford to spend 6+ years perfecting a formula. They need to release products and generate revenue. But because of the dispensary, I was able to take the time to get it right
That's the advantage of being bootstrapped, patient focused, and mission-driven instead of venture-backed and profit-obsessed
The Development Process
Level 1: Starting Simple
I started just like the rest of the CBD industry with low potency simple one or two cannabinoid formulas. They helped and improved quality of life but patients were still in pain, or still had anxiety or restless sleep
Level 3: Ancient Healing Meets Modern Science
That's when I turned my attention towards ancient healing: Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda traditions. These cultures have used botanicals for healing for thousands of years — so why not learn from them?
They both use complex combinations to enhance the effects synergy creates, but neither used cannabinoids traditionally. One reason is they couldn't isolate the individual cannabinoids as we can today. This allows us to create specific combinations to achieve the desired effects without side effects
I started with trendy botanicals like ashwagandha, ginkgo biloba, turmeric and curcumin. But then I turned to Google Scholar where I found Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) for pain research, Oleoylethanolamide (OEA) for weight loss research, Fucoidan as an immune system modulator, Baicalin and Baicalein for immune response and anti-cancer research. It's endless. That's why I will never stop researching.
Level 2: The Mechoulam Breakthrough (May 2019)
After receiving an email from Dr. Raphael Mechoulam in May 2019, his research revealed it could take much higher amounts of cannabinoids to effectively support the ECS. So I started to go up in potency and the improvements followed. But I again started to hit the improvement ceilings as unwanted side effects would appear when I tried to increase doses to get more improvements. I was using terpenes and multiple cannabinoids and had greatly improved the quality of life in many people but most still had lingering symptoms
Level 4: 5+ Years of Refinement
I've been able to work with the same core group of testers for many years because they are also my dispensary customers. One started with my custom supplements program in June 2019 — his Level 2 story on dementia support is going to open your eyes. With years upon years of back and forth with testers, I was able to continually improve the formulas to the point where we were able to remove THC and improve the effects. We are now ready to introduce ECS Supplements to the public.
The Development Process
The 7-Day Evaluation: Why It Works
That’s why I offer the 7-day Evaluation trial. I don’t need 3 weeks for you
to feel the effects. I need 2 days.
Day 1: You start at half dose strength to give your body’s ECS time to get
ready for the full dosage if needed. Many find that 1 capsule is enough to

Opened first medical marijuana dispensary (UWD). Started making custom formulas based on patient feedback
